Important Notes:
** The Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has announced that the general election for urban local bodies – 2022 will be held on 19.02.2022 in a single phase to elect members for the 200 wards of the Metropolitan Corporation of Chennai.

** Consultative meeting on security measures to be taken at tense and very tense polling centers was held with District Election Officer / Chief Secretary to Government / Commissioner Mr. Kagandeep Singh Bedi, IOP, and Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Shankar Jiwal, EC. P., Was held on 03.02.2022.

** Chief Secretary to Government / District Election Officer / Commissioner Mr. Kagandeep Singh Bedi, IOP today (31.01.2022) inspected the preliminary training class for polling officers who will be involved in the election work for 200 wards under the Metropolitan Corporation of Chennai.

** The 2nd installment and Booster Govt vaccination is to be given to the officials of Central, State and Public Sector Undertakings who will be involved in the election work for 200 wards under the Metropolitan Corporation of Chennai.

** Regarding the issuance of authorization letters to media persons to cover news during the general election 2022 ballot and counting of votes for urban local bodies.

** Officers belonging to Central, State and Public Sector Undertakings appointed for election work for 200 wards under Metropolitan Corporation of Chennai are required to attend their training classes regularly. District Election Officer / Commissioner Mr. Kagandeep Singh Bedi, IOP said that disciplinary action will be taken in case of misconduct.
