About Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss:
** Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss is a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu since 2014. The district economy is mainly agrarian in nature. Nearly 70% of the workforce is dependent on agriculture and allied activities.
** Anbumani Ramadoss, a name that has created history of sorts in the books of Indian healthcare; today is an iconic leader who has galvanized huge public opinion with his visionary outlook for Tami Nadu as PMK’s chief ministerial candidate. He is known crusading efforts demanding the ban of tobacco and bringing about total prohibition of alcohol in the country.

** In credit of his impeccable service to the world of healthcare, He was awarded with the Luther L. Terry Award by the American Cancer Society in 2006.
** The World Health Organisation honored Anbumani with the WHO Director General’s Special Award for Leadership in 2007.
** He was also lauded with the WHO Director General’s Special Award for Tobacco Control in 2007
** His efforts to eradicate polio from India brought him laurels and the Rotary international presented him with a Polio Eradication Champion Award in 2007 which was earlier awarded to global leaders like Bill Gates, Bill Clinton George Bush and Kofi Annan
** The Rotary club of Madras in 2008 presented Anbumani with a ‘For the sake of Honor’ award.
