MEMORANDUM :
In connection with the bye—elections to 14-Bangaon (SC) Parliamentary Constituency and 88‘Krishnaganj (SC) Assembly Constituency scheduled to be held on 13‘“ February,2015 (Friday), the undersigned is directed to declare the day of polling i.e 13‘” February,2015 as a public holiday under section 25 of the M Act 1881 for the offices located within the extent of the aforementioned Parliamentary Constituency and Assembly Constituency. As per directive of the Election Commission of India, the clay of dispatch i.e the day before the poll day (12-02-2015) may be declared as local holidays for the educational institutions located within the Parliamentary Constituency & Assembly Constituency, if the day of dispatch happens to be a teaching day for those institutions.
The undersigned is further directed to say that the State Government employees who are ordinarily residents and bonafide electors of the Constituency where poll will be held may be given opportunity to exercise their franchise on the day of poll in the following mannerl
i) The State Government employees who are ordinarily residents and bonafide electors of the Parliamentary Constituency and Assembly Constituency where poll will be held but serve in an office where the date of poll will not be declared as holiday, may be given the opportunity to exercise their franchise on that day if applied for writing by way of sanctioning late arrival in office or early departure there form or a short absence owing to exigencies of public service.
ii) The State Government employees who are residents and bonafide electors of the Constituency where poll will be held but serve in an office where the date of poll not be declared as holiday and located at such distance that it will not be possible for them to exercise their franchise without absenting themselves from their duties, may be allowed special casual leave on that day, if applied for writing.
iii) The undersigned is further directed to say that in the event of re-poll the State Government Employees who are ordinarily residents and bonafide electors of the polling stationis) where re-poll will be held may be given opportunity to exercise their franchise on the day of re-poll in the manner detailed in clause 2(i) and“2(‘ii)’ above

The Commission has decided to hold bye-elections to fill these vacancies as per the following schedule:
1. Issue of Notification 19.01.2015 (Monday)
2. Last date of making Nominations 27.01.2015 (Tuesday)
3. Scrutiny of Nominations 28.01.2015 (Wednesday)
4. Last date for withdrawal of Candidatures 30.01.2015 (Friday)
5. Date of Poll 13.02.2015 (Friday)
6. Counting of Votes 16.02.2015 (Monday)
7. Date before which election shall be completed 18.02.2015 (Wednesday)
