1. If I do not link my voter ID card with Aadhaar card, will my name be strucked off from the voter list?
Answer :
No. Your name will not be strucked off from the voter list. However, it is a good idea to link your Aadhaar number with Voter ID to help purify the voter list and prevent impersonation.
Aadhaar linking helps easy identification and authentication of voter. It’s safe as your Aadhaar number will never be shared with anyone else.

2. How to authenticate while filling form 6 B?
Answer :
** With Self-authentication: Elector may fill Form 6B online and authenticate Aadhaar using OTP to be received on his/her mobile number registered with UIDAI.
** Without Self-authentication: In case elector does not want to self-authenticate or self-authentication fails, the elector can simply submit Form 6B and upload a copy of Aadhaar card.
3. What is the qualifying date for becoming eligible for voter?
Answer :
** Earlier, only those who completed the 18 years of age by 1st January of the year could get themselves enrolled.
** From 9th November 2022, all who will be completing 18 years of age on any of the qualifying date of the year namely, 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October can apply for enrollment in Form-6.
4. After updating the mobile number in the voter card, will I get the voter card again?
Answer : No. Only your mobile number is updated in the ECI database.
5. What is the benefit of linking Aadhaar with voter id card
Answer :
It helps easy verification of the identity of voter and authentication of entries in the voter list.
It also helps purify the voter list and prevent impersonation.
6. Will our Aadhaar document be safe ?
Answer :
Yes. Every Form-6B with attachments is kept in safe custody with double lock by EROs after redacting the first 8 digits of Aadhaar Number.
Aadhaar number is stored in accordance with relevant regulations of UIDAI.
7. Question :What Are Requirements for registering as voter?
Answer :
You Can Enroll As a Voter if you:-
1. are an Indian citizen.
2. have attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date of revision of electoral roll.
3. are ordinarily resident of the part/ polling area of the constituency where you want to be enrolled.
4. are not disqualified to be enrolled as an elector.
8. Question :Can 17+ Citizen apply for voter card?
Answer :
Yes. The prospective voters, becoming eligible with reference to subsequent qualifying dates of the year i.e., 01st January, 01st April, 01st July and 01st October can also submit their advance application in Form-6, during Annual Summary Revision after 9th November 2022.
